A conventional 850nm IR fog light is typically mounted externally on a vehicle and requires custom wiring and control. Such devices tend to have limited visibility range and only work with night vision equipment operating in the near-infrared (NIR). We have the capability to custom-build IR-emitting LED bulbs that can be installed inside existing vehicle headlight and fog light housings and sockets built to accommodate traditional halogen or LED bulbs. This includes H1, H3, H4, H7, H11, HB3, HB4, and any other conventional or customized headlight socket.
Converting a vehicle lighting to infrared night-vision lighting can be as simple as replacing a bulb. We have also built dual-color prototype bulbs that can switch between visible to infrared by simply switching the bulb on and off. Multi-band bulbs can also be built to switch between two or more IR wavelengths such as 850nm, 1050nm, and 1500nm. This enables near-IR coverage for CCD/CMOS detectors/cameras in addition to InGaAs detectors and SWIR imaging or LIDAR for long-distance IR illumination using laser-excited phosphors or LEPs.

Existing built-in fog lights and headlamps can be modified to emit IR by swapping bulbs
