Horticulture lighting can enhance the photosynthesis process in plants by stimulating their photo receptors using various light wavelengths. Lighting can also be used to affect a plants’ photoperiodism and phototropism by employing a customized light recipe targeted for particular species and growth phases. LED lighting have created new opportunities for vertical farming and greenhouses that enabled yield increases, improved plant quality, and precise growth control at relatively low costs.
Light conversion agricultural phosphor films have also been shown to improve the photosynthetic yield and to increase plant height, stem diameter and internode length. The phosphor films not only help protect the plants from damaging ultraviolet (UV) light but are able to convert the UV light to a longer wavelength such as red, which is beneficial for leaf and plant growth.

Phosphor-converted LEDs can offer unlimited spectral customization for various plant species and growth phases
